- A Milestone created, "BACK THEN"
SP Burners, a team that had made it's name in the touch scene. But the situation here is, "had". Whatever blood and sweat is already in the team's heart and soul of it and is soon, i'm afraid, going into the history books.SP Burners is a place, where we enjoy good companionship, a brotherhood of strong bonds and a never ending passion for the sport we all die for, a good game of TOUCH. A sport that was totally new to everyone who took a first step forward, to ask what is this sport about at the booth, and eventually earning your first jersey, your FIRST BURNERS Jersey. Back then, Chia Hsien said, "We have started off as people's shadows, underdogs of every league. We wont the favorites around and we always were behind RP." He got tired of seeing silver, and for a period of time, every competition his team participated, we step into the field anticipating silver. I remembered, as his teammate, as a player, who just started off touch, who felt that strong feel of disappointment. It was all, "BACK THEN". Many outsiders, many people, start to see changes, to see something, indifferent about the Burners. Came a new era, a brotherhood of real brothers, who fought for each other on the field, and at times, fought with EACH OTHER on the field. But that's alright, cause tough times dont last, tough man do. And is cause of this, the brotherhood bond got stronger. Gold, was the only medal seen in all the pictures. Pictures filled with smiles, a group of Reds in the picture, all happy. The pioneer team started of with 10 players, then added on to a good 18 regulars, and lastly, the current batch that can add up to almost 30 players. As a captain, how happy to see every training, there is people to play, people to learn, and people enjoying 4hrs of just fun together. Problems are maintained through hardwork and determination. Chia Hsien tried very hard to pull the team together, I and Muhdy have succeeded to make the team, THE TEAM across all polytechnics, Joseph, Vincent and Yi Liang maintained it through their blood and sweat, and now, what story is to be made in this era of SP Burners. To a team that many people love to play in, to a team that many people feared to play against, to a team that made a name for itself, Will it be an end? From all the previous Burners who have made it into the history books, to the currently batch of Burners, please help to keep the team alive. Yours Truly, Burner's Captain once before, Derrick (7) |
